Wallenda’s visit to Niagara Falls included various press and promotional engagements but the Daredevil is keen on being hands on when it comes to preparation.  The search is on for a large space to practice at. Said Wallenda,  “All we need is a big open parking lot, but it has to be 1,800 feet (550 metres) and there aren’t many spaces like that. It makes sense to bring it here. It would help promote the walk and a lot of people seem to be interested in the things leading up to the walk.”

Training on the tightrope will involve using fans and mist machines to simulate to environmental conditions he will need to deal with on the actual walk.

The daredevil to cross Niagara Falls on a tightrope was James Hardy in 1896. For more information on Niagara Tightrope walkers, read our website and visit the Niagara Daredevil Gallery.
