Nik Wallenda to get statue in Niagara Falls?

Niagara Falls may get Nik Wallenda 365 days a year. At least a bronze sculpture of the famous Niagara Daredevil. Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati is looking to have a statue erected to commemorate near Table Rock, documenting the point where Wallenda completed the tightrope walk.

Diodati doesn’t want the historic June 15th walk to go without some kind of permanent reminder. Niagara Parks Commission Chairwoman Janice Thomson was noncommittal when it came to the Mayor’s ideas. The park has plans to install two boards paying tribute to the history of daredevils and Wallenda.

We’ll be keeping an eye on this story as it progresses. For more information on the Niagara Falls Daredevils, visit the Niagara Falls Daredevil Exhibit, located at the Niagara Falls IMAX Theatre.
