Daredevil Wallenda Not Giving Up Dream Yet

Today is possibly a big day for Daredevil Nik Wallenda and his tightrope proposal. Wallenda was introduced to city council last night by Niagara Falls MPP Kim Craitor, a vocal supporter of Wallenda’s proposal to walk a tightrope over Niagara Falls from the United States and Canada.

Although supported by Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati and the New York Governor,  the Niagara parks commission has already denied Wallenda’s proposal once, choosing not to go against its long-standing no-stunting policy. A  meeting with Ontario Tourism Minister Michael Chan has given Wallenda new hope for his stunt. Chan asked the commission to review Wallenda’s proposal again.  It is expected to be on the agenda for a meeting today.

“My dream is to walk across Niagara Falls on a tight rope,” Wallenda told council. Wallenda said his long-term plan is to have a permanent presence in Niagara Falls.
